Humphrey Mmemezi Resigns

South African Government — MEC of Housing Humphrey Mmemezi just resigned from his post as MEC with the Gauteng Local Government.

Humphrey Mmemezi just announced his resignation in a letter to Eye Witness News (EWN).  
"There are some decisions I deeply regret with regards to some of the personal purchases I made" said Mmemezi who until recently was the MEC of the Department of Housing.  
Mmemezi blames "ambiguity" of ministerial handbook and officials in his dept for personal purchases.  
 "These purchases [suits in India, artwork, etc] were an error of judgement for which I take full responsibility and apologize" writes Mmemezi.  
"I have learnt a great deal from this mistake and will certainly ensure it is not repeated" promised Mmemezi in his letter.  
Mmemezi was also previously involved in the Zandspruit protests and it’s said that the protests holds him to blame.  
"I've decided the most honourable thing to do under these circumstances is to step down as MEC"
