Sexting is the act of sending sexually explicit content and photographs primarily between mobile phones. According to a media release, made by 3rd Degree, teenagers take photographs of themselves naked or naked of each other having sex. After which they send these explicit images and videos to friends.
Sexting is a result of advances in technology which enables new forms of interaction.
This is becoming more and more of a problem in our community as this is done on a regular basis without the parents noticing.
Sexting can lead to kidnapping and rape of not only minors.
According to a local psychologist it is important for parent to recognise the dangers of sexting and urges parents to check their children’s cell phones for such explicit contents in a regular manner.
