Caxton Excellence Awards

Marilyn Monroe and Charlie Chaplin haunted the event - File Photo
South Africa — Press Pass - "Night of the stars",  this was the first thing we were greeted with by Martin Elsas,  on the night that will stick with us for many years to come.
The Caxton Excellence awards are aspired by many journalists and if you are even nominated you know you are the cream of the crop,  and to win something,  boy oh boy,  all the better.
Held at the "On the track theater" in Kyalami it was truly the theme of "the oscars" worth.
Everone looked so beautiful in their dresses and suits.  and the food,  and the decorations were just as great.
The ghosts of Marilyn Monroe and Charlie Chaplin was also wandering around in the halls of this theater and they were available for photographs too.
Many celebrities also appeared on stage not only to hand over awards to their new rightful owners, they also preformed songs from their latest albums these included Elvis Blue,  Mister South Africa,  Miss South Africa,  and former Miss South Africa Cindy Nel.
The after party was also awesome as we were entertained by a DJ.

The 23 Questions Of Love

Would you care to tell me what love is?

Would you hold me close in the darkness of the cold-cruel night?

Would you sing me a lullaby to go to sleep?

Would you carry me when life goes to steep?

Would you walk with me hand-in-hand?

Would you carry me on eagles wings?

Would you even tell me how much you love me?

Would you show me what caring is?

Would you show me what a loving hand looks like?

Would you comfort me when I am down?

Love You - Photo courtesy of  RNAI Photographer and Denzil Pillay
Would you take me in when I am cold?

Would you whisper your words of love into my ear?

Would you always hold me dear?

Would you see me as a valuable possession?

Would you kiss me good night if I was yours?

Would you walk with me on this long-stretched path?

Would you play this game called life with me?

Would you even love me till the end of time?

Would you accept me when I tell you how much I love you?

Would you be with me through thick and through thin?

Would you love me even as much as I love you?

Would you hug me when I need you to?

Would you care to tell me,  what love is?

Love is a permanent-employment,  and it hurts when you get fired!!!! - Love with care

Whitney cause of death - Cocaine

Whitney Houston in younger-happier years - Source Photo
United States — According to lab results the world renowned artist lost the battle against her drug addiction.
The long awaited toxicology results has been released,  the cause of Whitney Houston's death was indeed the over dosage of Cocaine.
This followed when Houston's family suspected her death not to be due to natural causes after she allegedly drowned in the bathtub of her suite in the hotel room where she had been residing.
Although she abused drugs and this caused her death,  we will always love Whitney and a big gap will be felt in the music and acting industry as there is only one Houston.

Afrikaans Banned

South Africa — One of South Africa's official languages,  Afrikaans is being banned to be taught in South African universities and schools.
According to the new ANC Language law we are no longer entitled to receive teaching or services in Afrikaans,  thus if you go to a shop you may only use English and not Afrikaans.
According to the 'OranjeRevolusie' the Afrikaans speaking citizens of South Africa has just as much right to exist than the other cultures in the country.
On 20 March 2012 Afrikaans will make headlines across South Africa and on 21 March 2012 a document against the banning of Afrikaans will be handed to President Jacob Zuma.  If you are against the banning of this language feel free to like www.facebook.com/oranjerevolusie

GIEN ELSAS AN INSPIRATION TO ALL

Gien Elsas - Source Photo
South Africa— Gien Elsas, currently running the Caxton Cadet School,  is truly someone one can look up to.
Gien has over 30 years experience in the journalism industry,  her first job at a  newspaper was as a news editor after which she was poached by The Star newspaper where she joined the Bureau for The Star,  she worked there for 14 years and 6 months.
Beforehand she was a teacher with students who had minimal brain function,  she was however forced to leave after getting married because married women were not allowed to receive permanent employment.
In her life Gien did quite a few amazing and marvellous things,  one of which was the raising of 80 baby baboons.  She also studied non-verbal human to primate communication.
After a short leave from journalism she returned and became the principal of the Caxton Cadet School,  she was later,  in 2009,  promoted to Human Resources Development Manager,  she expanded the school to a full time training academy in 2011.
She would like all young people to chew on the following thought.  “If you have a passion for something and that which you do you will succeed… and live everyday as if it was your last.”

Chain accident on Ontdekkers Road

South Africa - On 3 March,  a taxi suddenly stopped on a busy end-of-month Ontdekkers Road adjacent Princess Crossing causing a huge chain accident.
All the cars behind the taxi stopped but a woman in a black BMW could not stop in time as she was going too fast,  she collided with a white BMW in front of her which then collided with two other vehicles.  The owner of the car in the front,  Tshepo Seboko,  told the Record that “The taxi stopped then all the other cars stopped as well but the woman in the BMW did not stop or slow down,  she could not,  because she was driving at a very high speed.”  All of the drivers were taken to Flora Clinic for furrow observation,  luckily no one died,  and there were only a few minor injuriesobtained during this chain accident.
